The M23 comes from the storied M13 bloodlines, a favorite hybrid board Al Merrick made for himself and rode variants of for decades from fun Rincon to maxing Sunset. A true high performance hybrid that caters to the widest possible type and size of surfer - and for the widest range of wave conditions.
Not to be confused with the CI Mid, the M23 carries more foam, boasting a fuller rail and sleeker nose outline. It paddles like a champ while still riding more like a shortboard.
Torq's X-Lite technology is an advanced TET molding process designed with a performance tweak for our Channel Islands collaboration models.
Innovative Construction:
X-Lite begins with a model-blown EPS blank, expanded to the final size and shape, ensuring perfect shape reproduction with zero waste or inaccuracies. The fin box recesses are pre-included in this process.
- Accuracy: The process eliminates shaping, sanding, and guesswork. Every step is controlled, from foam density to resin content and fin inserts.
- Low Waste: No shaping means no waste. Dry-laid cloth off-cuts can be recycled. Resin is applied by weight, with no excess.
- Durability: Biaxial cloth, stronger than plain weave, is used generously due to efficient lay-up. High-density EPS and epoxy resin ensure superior strength.
- Sustainability: Torq's low-waste process and long-lasting products minimize environmental impact. Production runs on solar power, materials are locally sourced, and shipping uses eco-friendly packaging. Fin boxes are made from GRS and UL-certified recycled plastic.
Superior Build:
The EPS blank is wrapped in Biaxial fiberglass cloth, Impact Mesh for dent resistance, Carbon strips for responsiveness, and Shield Skin for scratch resistance. A precision CNC-cut aluminum mold cures the resin, ensuring perfect distribution.
Performance:
Torq X-Lite boards surf fast and are built to last. They offer a feel similar to PU boards but with enhanced dampening, thanks to the carbon strips that maintain stiffness and response. Transitioning from other board tech is seamless and intuitive.
Experience the difference with Torq X-Lite – precision-crafted, high-performance boards that are kind to the planet.
