The new and improved, Flow 2.0 is a collaborative shape between Marcus Tardrew, Bert Burger and James (Jimmy) Casey. This board has all the original performance features of the Flow built in, now with a step deck and even thinner rails for more radical performance. It’s one of the most versatile surf shapes in our range for everyday conditions. Check one out if you want to be ready for anything the ocean throws your way.

James Casey

James has always had a connection to the ocean: from surfing at a young age, to kitesurfing in his teens and in the last few years, SUP surfing and racing.  After competing in his first SUP event in 2014, James is now an active and highly respected member of the local Sydney, Australian and International paddle community.  James has built a reputation for being strong in both aspects of the sport, placing 2nd at the SUP World Tours Sunset Beach Pro and placing 5th at the prestigious Molokai 2 Oahu.

Casey has been with Sunova due to it being the strongest boards, highest performance, you’ve gotta have the best equipment and Sunova's are made in a relatively environmentally friendly way, it’s a win win.

XXX Technology

XXX uses balsa wood which is more expensive and harder to use. Approximately 24 pieces of balsa panels are put together to create the board. Each piece is hand picked for areas that need more strength to get a higher density and other less, creating a weight saving board. Then using the unique sandwiching technique to lay the balsa on the board helps endure strength and lightness with all XXX boards. On the bottom this gives the Sunova a unique damper effect that makes the board feel smooth in the water, especially in choppier water. Due to the lighter density of the balsa wood the fin area must be reinforced with bamboo fiber pieces. Using cnc PVC inserts this prevents water leaks and extra strength. The XXX uses a full carbon parabolic rail to generate the most stiffness with the least amount of weight; but is arguably the most expensive material used in the industry. Keeping the unique hand brushed rail paint makes it difficult to notice paddle strokes and repairs as easy as possible. All the XXX boards include a mini windsurf mast track built into the board. The XXX uses multiple traction pads to create a hardcore feeling, while adding addition grip. All Sunova boards come with custom fins for each of the boards.
